Breakfast was very good, always lively, Toni was an excellent host serving us well and giving us local info, places to visit, we were able to add some indoor info to her list of places as weather was challenging, a lot of rain… Excellent 801 hourly bus service between local villages meant we could leave car parked at Mousetrap and explore local markets and villages Enjoyed couple of main meals here, good quality tasty food, Rich was our host in evenings, also checked us in on arrival and was brilliant at squeezing us in for last minute food table, keeping us entertained and after referring with Michelle, accommodating us with a table to sit and relax for the evening twice with just a drink when weather turned against us. Thank you everyone for making our stay a good one on our second visit with you! Albeit our last one was approx 20 years ago, different set of staff and owners but same ambience exists, had another great week

On arrival the greeting of the brambling brook was a very welcoming surprise. Mousetrap a cute as in the picture books. Staff very welcoming, happy and pleased to greet us. Comfortable, small but our picking and everything we needed. Delicious evening meals. Bed cosy ... breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The pleasant walk into city centre very beautiful, we lucked in for a sunny day and a very pleasant early morning walk for me was a special treat. Found a walkway that took me round the back of home with the water at my side all the way and out I popped in the heart of the city centre and the bridge over the brambling brook again. Magical.

The positives were the great staff and food, the location was great for everywhere we wanted to visit such as Hawkstone brewery, the car museum and the model village. The negatives, for us, the room wasn't particularly clean. Specifically, the floor hadn't been vacuumed or mopped,it was gritty and dirty. But our main concern was having a member of staff sitting directly outside our ground floor room, next to the front door, smoking, and the cigarette butts being left on the floor. Obviously, if you have a room above the bar and restaurant, this wouldn't be a problem.

Lorraine

It was an authentic stay in an old English cottage. The rooms were reimagined & converted into single rooms and were charming. Small, but expected. The town of Bourton-on-the-Water was our favorite in all of Cotswold. Restaurant was nice as well and the free breakfast was from the menu and cooked to order. Staff, which were different each day, were all professional and very friendly. Would stay there again
